Philip Price is the Senior Minister of Sandy Springs Christian Church. Phil was called to SSCC in 2007 to lead us in becoming a place of vital ministry and radical welcome. Building on the legacy of previous leaders and ministers, he hopes to help us take our place in the community as a progressive, faithful place of worship, spiritual growth and mission.
New to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), he received his Masters of Divinity from Emmanuel College, Toronto School of Theology, and was then ordained in the United Church of Canada. When he moved to California in 1990, he transferred his ordination to the United Church of Christ, where he served prior to coming to SSCC. He has served churches in Ontario, Nova Scotia, California and Georgia.
Phil and his wife Vicki have six children, two in high school, one in college and several who are now finally paying their own bills. (Grandkids would be welcomed at any time.)
In addition to reading, writing music, and playing the piano, Phil is also interested in environmental issues, ping pong, sustainable building, the Daily Show, conversations about war and peace, organic gardens, travel, and conversations about the intersection of science and faith. (He has tried golf several times but a golf club in his hands seems to become gardening tool.)
