Worship

Sandy Springs Christian Church offers two opportunities for worship on Sunday mornings.

  • 9:00 AM - a casual, intimate service
  • 11:00 AM - a traditional, liturgical service
  • Sunday morning worship is the central touchstone for our life as a community of faith. In worship we gather as a body in a single place, celebrate our life in Christ, hold ourselves accountable to the truth in Scripture, and listen to the Holy Spirit.

The ministers and laypersons - male and female - who lead worship take seriously their roles in facilitating our encounter with God. Our visitors and members often comment on the quality of the worship experience at SSCC.

Sermons address today's issues of faith, spirituality and morality. We are committed to honest interpretation of the Christian scriptures, and do not gloss over or explain away difficult questions.

    Our Worship

    • follows the lectionary cycle
    • includes celebration of Holy Communion, which is offered to all who are present
    • invites questions, curiosity and wonder, rather than presenting conclusions that all must accept

We want our gathered worship to inspire us to

    • Commit to a discipleship of Christ-centered transformation
    • See the light of Scripture as it relates to today
    • Appreciate how Christian tradition speaks to our reality
    • Embrace and love all humankind through selfless service

    Visitors

We want you to know that you are welcome no matter where you are on your faith journey. We believe faith is a journey, not a destination, and we invite you to join us as we seek meaning and purpose for our lives individually, in our personal relationships, and as a church family.
